Stump and Coastline, Porth Namarch
This photo was taken at 2pm on the 17th June 2026 and later developed as a HDR file created from a merged set of 3 exposures using On1 Photo RAW.
I've taken similar shots before when walking the coastline at Breakwater Country Park over the many years we've been holidaying at Anglesey.
I like to reshoot the same scene from time to time. There can be marked differences in terms of conditions, light, my approach, composition, foliage, tide and more.
Development
I made a particular decision to make use of Photo RAW's depth masking when implementing local contrast effects, so that foreground detail gradually diminished in the mid ground, and distant objects were softened with negative local contrast and a bit of haze - also a slightly cooler colour temperature. I feel this has added a more realistic depth to the photo.
I took my time with the development, returning several times with fresh eyes and ideas.
I'm quite pleased with the resulting image.
