This image  was taken as a bracketed set of three exposures at 3:30pm on the 17th June 2026 and later developed with Luminar.

Yes, I'm back processing my photos with Luminar!

Revisiting

Gill and I like to revisit our favourite locations when holidaying. It's easy and reliable when you return to familiar place.

From a photography standpoint, familiarity gives a head start to capturing photos in different conditions, and with new approaches.

I've photographed this bridge many times before, of course, but not quite with the same success as this.

Developing with Luminar

I had to remind myself of the different approach needed when blending exposures for HDR. Each exposure is best processed and optimised with Develop RAW, including lens corrections, before blending. Luminar's HDR Merge produces a TIFF file, and you are then dealing with pixels rather than RAW data.

Perhaps it's the above approach that pays dividends in the stability of Luminar?

There have been improvements since I last used this software, including a new tool called Light Depth, which is excellent. As the name implies, the tool uses AI depth mapping, which you can adjust to suit your requirements.

I'm happy to have returned to Luminar and it's easy-to-use tools, which are mostly very effective at what they achieve.

I'm quite pleased with the featured image here.
