Building on Bridge 10 at Mytholmroyd

Building on Bridge 10 at Mytholmroyd

This image was taken as a bracketed set of three exposures at 1:35 pm on the 11th October 2025 and more recently developed with On1 Photo RAW.

I've photographed this scene a few times before and at different focal lengths. I've found that a mid focal length gives the best proportions and is more complementary to the architecture. My usual close and wide approach hasn't yielded a nice shot so far ๐Ÿ˜Š

And thankfully, the sun was out at the time, so my RAW files captured plenty of colour and dynamic range to develop the character of the scene.

Location

Bridge 10 at Mytholmroyd carries the A646 Burnley Road over the Rochdale Canal, which navigates between Castlefield in Manchester and Sowerby Bridge in Calderdale.

When we stay at Hebden Bridge Caravan Club Site, Gill and I regularly complete a circular walk from the railway station at Mytholmroyd, along the wooded footpath to Brearley and then along the canal towpath, which passes under bridge 10, back to our car parked at Mytholmroyd.

It's a nice walk, weather permitting, with plenty of photographic subject matter.

I'm quite pleased with the results from my work on this image ๐Ÿ˜Š
