Computer Software Tuition and Support

One to one tuition at your home or office

I give friendly one to one tutorial training and  software support to clients at their home or office.

I specialise in teaching modern web design practices, content writing, search engine optimisation, graphics, digital photography and image processing. The software applications I endorse and use are open-source, freeware and low costing commercial titles, all of which are detailed at my recommended software section. I also teach better use of email using a proper email hosting and free email client software to automatically receive your emails and be notified when they arrive.

As an independent tutor, I do not prepare fixed or academic, curricular courses: I give lessons comprising of flexible and attentive guidance, illustration, and answers to your questions. Whether for business or hobby, my tuition will help you to master modern website publishing, the internet, graphics, and digital photography more efficiently.

A better way to learn

Training courses?

Traditional training courses involve having to share the attention of the tutor with a large number of people, mostly of varying ability, experience and requirements. This inefficient and inflexible form of teaching often covers aspects you don't require and features expensive software costing hundreds of pounds to use legally.

Surely there's a better way?

Tuition: learn just what you want - at your own pace!

My tuition service is tailored to your requirements. Whether you're a complete beginner or wishing to advance your existing skills, lessons will be at your pace, in your home or office, and on your PC. I always bring my laptop to training appointments however, so it doesn't matter if you don't have a computer available.

Any applications I install on your PC for tutoring will either be free to use or a trial of a low costing commercial title, so you needn't worry about having to spend hundreds on software, or be tempted to anything other than legitimate use.

Paradoxical pragmatism

I appreciate that there can be situations where it is appropriate for two people to share tuition, and in such situations I will be happy to oblige at no extra cost.

Software

I have conducted extensive research in recent years to find lower costing and open source alternatives to expensive, corporate software. Often, people are unaware that such alternatives are available.

Details of the software I recommend are available at my software section together with links, screen shots and downloads. Applications include web design, internet browsing, email, vector graphics, and digital photo editing.

I can install, configure and teach you how to use any of my recommended software applications.
