About Monthly Photo Competitions
Photo Entries
Photos are entered to the each monthly competition by filling in the form at the competition entry page here at the group website. There's a list of current themes on the same page.
You are allowed a maximum of two entries in each month. The photos must have been taken by yourself, hence have your copyright.
Files will transfer faster and you'll have a sharper entries displayed if you prepare optimised images with maximum dimensions of 450 pixels in height and 600 in width. If you don't know how to do this, don't worry, just send the size you have. Photos should be in JPEG or PNG format.
Photo Display and Voting
Each monthly competition closes to entries a week or two into the succeeding month in order to allow extra time for members prepare their images. Once we have sufficient entries, I publish the slideshow and email the group to announce that the comp' is closed and request entrants (and non-entrants) cast their votes. If you've chosen not to receive group messages via email, you can keep up with activities at the Latest News section here at the website.
Votes are cast via the web-form on the voting page.
Members who haven't entered
All members are welcome and encouraged to vote in our monthly competitions; you don't have to have entered any photos to take part in the voting.
Members who have entered images
You may not vote for your own entries. You must cast your votes in order to maintain equillibium and integrity of the system. If you do not cast your votes, any votes received for your own entries will not be included in the results, thus ensuring a fair balance to the competitions.
Thereafter
All entries remain indefinitely archived within each monthly slideshow album. Copyright of each image remains with the individual photographer throughout.
By entering your photos in the competitions, you agree to them being displayed at the website as described above, irrespective of whether you continue membership.
